Positive profit warning: S-Bank Group's operating profit in 2022 exceeds forecast
According to preliminary and unaudited figures, the S-Bank Group’s operating profit was almost EUR 45 million in 2022. In 2021, operating profit was EUR 24.8 million.
In the interim report published earlier (10 November 2022), S-Bank estimated that the operating profit for the whole year 2022 would significantly exceed the level of 2021.
The better-than-forecast result was due to the positive effect of increasing interest rates on S-Bank’s net interest income. The rise in interest rates had an impact on the net interest income particularly in the second half of the year.
S-Bank will comment on its financial performance the next time in connection with the publication of the financial statements bulletin for 2022 on Friday 3 February 2023 at 9.00 am. The company will also provide an estimate of its outlook for 2023 at the same time.
